a short biography
Grant Ernhart was born in St. Cloud, Minnesota. After high-school he became involved in Biathlon, the odd but fantastic sport combining cross-country skiing and rifle marksmanship. Ernhart competed on the international level in this sport for six years, ending his career after two years on the US National Team in 2000. He continued to be involved in the sport for two more years as the Assistant Junior National team coach and massage therapist. During this time, he began to study Rolfing, finishing his certificate in Munich, Germany in 2002. Ernhart moved back to Duluth, MN, where he opened his own practice. He went back to college that fall in preparation to study Naturopathic medicine but enrolled in a photography class as well, in order to receive financial aid. He had never really taken a picture before, but after three months became incredibly hooked and was persuaded to apply to the San Francisco Art Institute. In August 2003, he relocated to the West Coast to pursue photography full time. He graduated in May 2006 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and continues to work and live in San Francisco.Currently, Grant is looking for opportunities to show his photography.
